February Empties & Favorites
6:03 PM
Hello!
I can't believe how fast January and February went by! I still remember celebrating the start of a new year and then all of sudden we're into March already?! Oh well, that means spring is almost here...then come summer! Don't get me wrong I love winter, but I hate the cold. I'm like an icicle even in my own house lol.
Anyways, one of my goals for 2015 was to be more outspoken, bold, and take on more opportunities - basically be more confident and adventurous. Re-starting this blog was also one of them. So far, I've done decently well at holding myself accountable for these goals regardless of whether it's beauty-related or not. I've even gone out of my comfort zone and tried new beauty products I normally wouldn't. I'm the type of person who will usually stick with the same products if I know they work well for me, but this month I've definitely ventured out and tried new ones as well and I'm so excited to share them with all of you.
FEBRUARY FAVORITES:

1. Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation (3W1 or Tawny) - I love this foundation! It's a lifesaver for my dry skin! Not only is it long-lasting and has great medium to full coverage, it's also very hydrating. It gives me a dewy effect without making my skin look greasy.
2. NYX Conceal, Correct, Contour Palette (Medium) - Great coverage, perfect for concealing dark circles and blemishes!
3. Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette - Loved this palette! See my full review here.
4. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette - I didn't think I would like this highlighter and was hesitant on purchasing it, but I've been gravitating towards this product more and more. It gives just the most subtle hint of shimmer.
5. Neutrogena Soft Color Blush (Divine Wine - 90) - This blush has been a long-time favorite since high school! I rediscovered it again this month while cleaning out my makeup. There's no shimmers so it gives off a natural and soft-looking finish.
6. Origins Drink-up Intensive Overnight Mask - LOVE this mask! My skin gets extremely dry during the wintertime so I was looking for something that would help with the dry patches on my cheeks and around my nose. This was it! You use it like it's a moisturizer after washing your face. Then all you do is wipe off any excess product on a dry washcloth. Since my skin is so dry I don't even wipe it off. It's super hydrating and my skin feels so refreshed and more plump the morning after.
7. MAC Fix+ Spray - Again, this product has been a longtime favorite. I repurchased it again after running out of my Urban Decay All Nighter Spray.
8. Makeup Geek Eyeshadows (Cocoa Bear, Brûlée, & Peaches - middle row down) - Recently discovered these eyeshadows last month, but I didn't get to really use them until this month. WOW! Great pigmentation, soft, and affordable. See my full review here.
9. Lancôme Hynose Drama Mascara (Waterproof) - This is definitely a new favorite! I've heard so many great reviews on how well this mascara works for Asian lashes so I ended up purchasing it last month. I didn't get around to using it until this month so I couldn't do a full review for you guys but I do have that on my to-do list for this month so stay tune for that.
10. NARS Pro-prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base - This is definitely a new favorite. I don't generally use an eyeshadow primer because I don't wear makeup on an everyday basis, but when I do wear darker shadows on my eyes this primer beats out all the rest.
11. NYX Liquid Blackliner - New favorite for this month as well. I've been on the hunt for my holy-grail liquid eyeliner and this one came pretty close.
12. MAC lipstick (Coral Bliss) - This is just the prettiest coral shade. I love how natural it looks and it's so work-appropriate. It's perfect for spring!
13. Urban Decay Lipstick (Shame) - I love how dark and dramatic this lipstick is. It's so long-lasting and highly-pigmented.
14. Tory Burch Perfume - I can literally die smelling this perfume. It's my all-time favorite.
FEBRUARY EMPTIES:

1. Wells Professional Brilliance Hair Treatment for fine and normal colored hair - This was by far the best hair mask I've used! Since I do dye my hair regularly I needed a hair treatment to help with my damaged hair. This leaves my hair so soft and silky. I'm definitely going to repurchase this product again.
2. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer (NC25) - I love the concealer so much I have backups of it! It's so creamy and has great coverage.
3. Urban Decay All-Nighter Spray - I like and don't like this spray. I love how it makes my makeup stay all day long, but I felt it wasn't as hydrating as the MAC Fix+ Spray. It's also a little pricier so I don't think I would repurchase this one.
4. Bliss Micro Magic Microdermbrasion Treatment - All I have to say is that this product is truly MAGIC! It leaves my skin so soft and smooth. It's like getting a facial at home. My husband uses this too and he loves it!
Alright, that's a wrap guys...all of my beauty empties and favorites for this month! That was quite a long list but we've made it to the end. I hope you've enjoyed reading this and I'll see you guys in another blog post. Take care!
