Simple Bouncy Waves | Hair Tutorial
1:15 PM
Hello! I'm back with another tutorial, but this time it's a hair tutorial for simple bouncy curls! This was a requested video on Instagram. There's no voiceover for this video because I actually just got my braces last week and talking is still a little painful and stiff for me. I will write another blog post about getting my braces soon! In the meantime, we can make do with the subtitles so DON'T FORGET TO CLICK ON "CC" FOR THE SUBTITLES! :)
Before I do anything I always use a heat protection spray! Make sure to take good care of your hair ;). Then I tie up 2/3 of my hair up leaving only 1/3. Start curling your hair from the bottom closest to your neck and work your way up to the crown. Then follow the below steps:
1. Take a 2-in section of hair and curl the first 1/3 of it (closest to your head) in a diagonal direction away from your face. Hold it for 5 seconds
2. Repeat with the second section of your hair (middle section) and hold for 5 seconds.
3. Repeat with the last 1/3 section (closest to your ends) and hold for 5 seconds.
4. Unclamp the curl slowly and away from your face.
5. Hold the curl in the palm of your hand for 10 seconds. This allows your curls to cool down for longer lasting curls.
The last thing I do is comb my fingers through my hair. I don't use a comb or a brush because my hair gets very stactic-y during the wintertime. I also like my curls to have some bounce with "definition" as I like to call it lol. Honestly, I don't like having to spend too much time on my hair so I usually try to keep it simple and use as little product on my hair as possible. The products featured in this video is listed below:
▷ CHI Hair Protection Spray
▷ CHI Silk Infusion serum
▷ Hot Tools Gold Curling Iron 1 1/4 in. barrel
I don't use hair spray because I don't like the feel of it in my hair. Also, my hair is really stubborn and even if I use hair spray it really doesn't do anything for me. It will only weigh down my hair and make it "crunchy". I like my hair to be "soft" and "bouncy" not stiff. Using a serum helps conceal my split ends as well as add shine and life to my hair.
Hope you guys enjoyed it! Thank you for watching & I'll talk to you guys next time!
